Empowering Women through Information Technology Towards a vibrant “Digital Bangladesh”

You are cordially welcome to the Web Portal of Tottho Apa, where the core commitment of women empowerment takes paramount prominence through the use of information technology. The project is being implemented under the auspices of the Ministry of Women & Children Affairs, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The main objective of founding this web portal is to get the information technology to women, who constitute half of our population, in order to solve their day-to-day problems and thus improving their livelihood and over all socio-economic condition. The web portal is constructed totally under the control of the Government, which believes in the advancement of a “Digital Bangladesh.”

An enormous database has been incorporated alongside the portal called - Women TV. It contains a colossal archive of information for women. The archive is focused mainly on six issues e.g. agriculture, health, education, gender and law. The access of women to this database has been adequately ensured. As a result, they can easily access required information and can effectively explore solution of their problems. Moreover, there exists Women TV. We can see various inspirational news, videos, special programs etc. Here, both outline and offline video - pictorials are made visible. We welcome not only women but also everybody, both national and international viewers. We expect every support in expediting women empowerment and moving forward with this project in this country.
